Background and Purpose

ADRA Ethiopia is a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental international organization that has been operational in Ethiopia since 1982. ADRA Ethiopia implements a wide range of humanitarian and development programs, including education, agriculture, WASH, livelihoods, renewable energy, and capacity building of government and non-government stakeholders at both regional and federal levels. ADRA Ethiopia's Strategic Plan is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focuses on poverty reduction through sustainable development interventions that strengthen the capacities of individuals and communities.

In partnership with ADRA Norway and with funding from the Kavli Trust Foundation, ADRA Ethiopia is implementing the TVET for Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Change (TRACC) project in Oromia and Sidama regions. The project aims to contribute to the Government of Ethiopia's efforts in the TVET sector by improving the well-being and resilience of TVET students while supporting TVET institutions and surrounding communities to develop sustainable solutions for adapting to climate change.

Against this background, ADRA Ethiopia invites qualified and experienced suppliers of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems to supply and install solar PV systems for three partner TVET colleges: Tulla and Boricha TVET Colleges in Sidama Region and Wondo TVET College in Oromia Region.

The main purpose of supplying and installing the 1.5 kW Solar PV systems is to strengthen the practical training capacity of the partner TVET colleges by providing functional solar PV training systems and hands-on learning opportunities for trainers and trainees. The systems will support practical instruction in solar PV system design, installation, operation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance, while promoting the development of renewable energy skills and the adoption of clean, sustainable, and climate-resilient energy solutions.

Procedure

  1. It is obligatory requirement that the bidder should be legally established & registered in the Ethiopia.
  2. The applicant should provide financial and technical offer in a separate sealed postal envelop.
  3. The bidder should be willing for the due diligence assessment of independent expert assigned by ADRA Ethiopia.
  4. The Winner should supply, transport/deploy and install the solar PV system to the above mentioned 3 TVET Colleges should proof the technical functionality and commissioning before the final official handover.
  5. The winner should provide the design and brief orientation for the master trainers of the above 3 TVET college and safety and operation of the materials.

ADRA Ethiopia, the implementing NGO would like to invite all interested and qualifying firms and individual suppliers who intend to participate in this open call, to collect the bid document (Terms of References and technical specification) by paying non-returnable 1000.00 Birr.
