Expert Consultant Needed for Conversion from GAAP to IPSAS

The Ethiopian Mediation and Arbitration Center (EMAC) is a non-for- profit organization registered as Ethiopian Residence Charity, working on the promotion of Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism in Ethiopia.

The center is currently seeking an experienced and highly qualified expert to assist with the conversion of our financial reporting from Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with in-depth knowledge of both accounting frameworks and a strong track record in successful financial reporting conversions.

Position Overview:

We are in need of a consultant who will guide and manage the entire process of converting our financial records and systems to comply with IPSAS. This includes, but is not limited to:

Conducting a thorough analysis of our existing GAAP-based financial statements

Identifying key differences between GAAP and IPSAS

Designing and implementing strategies for conversion and aligning our processes with IPSAS requirements

Providing expert advice on pest practices in public sector financial reporting

Offering training and support to our finance team on IPSAS standards

Ensuring compliance with IPSAS throughout the conversion process

Qualifications:

A recognized professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent)

Extensive experience with IPSAS conversion, implementation, and compliance

Proven expertise in public sector accounting and financial reporting

Strong knowledge of both GAAP and IPSAS frameworks

Excellent communication and project management skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior management
