Announcement for extension of Bid closing and opening schedule.

This is to notify bidders that the "MEKELLE REGION EEU" has postponed the date of closing and opening for BID NO "EEU-MR/NCB/002/2019" floated on September 09/2026. Even though the specified bid No was scheduled to close and open on Sep. 30/2026, due to force-majeure conditions the public body will forced to extend the schedule. Accordingly the closing and opening date for BID NO. EEU-MR/NCB/002/2019 will extend as shown in the table below.

1. The Ethiopian Electric Utility Mekelle region invites to eligible Bidders that have Relevant Category GC - 4 Grade or BC - 3 Grade Licenses and Trade License both valid for the current Ethiopian Fiscal Year. (EFY, 2018), VAT Registration Certificate, TIN Certificate, valid Tax Clearance Certificate and with Registration in the Suppliers List of Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency (PPA), or Suppliers List of Certificate (hard copy attachment).
2. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the OPEN Bid Tendering Procedures contained in the Public Procurement Proclamation of the Federal Government of Ethiopia. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and clarification in the following address:

3. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested eligible bidders from the above address and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 3,000.00 (Three Thousand Birr) from the first date of this announcement on the newspaper for up to Oct 29/2026. The method of payment for purchasing the bid document will be by paying in cash at office No 302 or deposit the above amount on EEU Mekelle region Account no 1000068736548 held at Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.
4. Bid proposals should be submitted to Supply Chain Property & General Service office 3rd Floor No-304, before Oct 29, 2026 at 8:30 PM (local time). Late bids shall be rejected and will be returned unopened to the Bidder.
5. All bids must be accompanied by Bid Security, as specified above in the table. The Bid Security shall be in the form of CPO or an Unconditional Bank Guarantee in the name of «MEKELLE REGION ELECTRIC UTILITY >> only.
6. Bids will be closed and opened in the above date & time in the presence of the bidders or their representatives.
7. The Mekelle Region Electric utility reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
