The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has received financing in the amount of US$ 150 million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Agricultural Growth Programme (AGP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods,works, and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the USAID, UNDP & CIDA.
The main project components are:
- Agricultural Production and Commercialization
- Small-scale Rural Infrastructure Development and Management.
- AGP Management and Monitoring and Evaluation.
A brief description of the goods, works and services to be procured under ICB procedures are:
- Office equipment (Computers, printers, fax machines, etc#)
- Vehicles and Motor bikes
- AI Station, Animal & Plant Health Center Lab Equipment
- Equipment for Veterinary Clinics
- Equipment for Animal Health Posts
- Watershed Management Performance Assessment Study
Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conductedthrough the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition).
Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dgMarket and in local newspapers.
