Assignment Title: Data Management consultant

Contract Duration: 6 months with possible extension to 12 months

1. Background

The data management consultant will have responsibilities linked to the PrazOpt research project, an observational clinical research working in Hawassa and Addis Ababa. Center for Innovative Drug Development and Therapeute Tisnis for Afrika (41. Am

2. Scope of Work

•  The successful applicant will be responsible for technical support to establish data management structures - REDCap - for the PrazOpt project, under the guidance of the CDTAfrica Center Lead and study investigators.

3. Principal responsibilities:

• Work closely with project investigators to plan and coordinate data management structures and activities in CDT-Africa.
• Engage in training the staff in different data management platforms.
• Develop and maintain the data management procedures and databases for the PrazOpt.
• Program electronic data collection tools like REDCap and be responsible for the transfer of data to the project database.
• Develop and promote the implementation of standardized operating procedures for quality data management in CDT-Africa.
• Ensure that data management complies with Good Clinical Practice through the development and implementation of robust data handling procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data handling requirements of external partners (e.g. GDPR). Develop and deliver training for CDT-Africa staff and students relating to the data management of trials.
• Clean and analyze quantitative data.
• Provide data reports to support analyses.

4. Deliverables:

• Train research staff on different types of data management platforms
• Develop and maintain data collection tool, REDCap
• Ensure the proper transfer of data to the database.
• Extract data for quantitative analysis.
• Provide data reports periodically.

5. Qualifications and Competencies:

• MSc in health-related or computer engineering related or statistics, with thesis.
• At least 2 years of experience with health research data management consultancy service.
• Proficiency in REDCap programming.
• Proficiency with statistical software and excel.
• Excellent computer program literacy and knowledge.
• Previous hands-on experience with data collection and handling data from clinical trials
• Experience delivering training.
• Experience in working with international collaborators.
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Experience with quantitative research methods and analysis.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Personal attributes: well organized, a high level of attention to detail, ability to work with others, and excellent communication and organizational skills

6. Evaluation

•  Individual consultants will be evaluated based on both technical and financial analysis. Only candidates obtaining a minimum of 70 points in the technical evaluation will be considered for the financial evaluation. The consultant shall submit their technical and financial proposal separately. The evaluation will be the least cost evaluation method.

7. Documents to be included when submitting the proposals

• Cover letter explaining why you are the most suitable candidate for this assignment.
• CV including experience and at least 3 references; copies of degrees and training certificates,
• Financial proposal (lump sum amount) including all taxes.
