I.              Background and Objectives

The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (GOE) has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Private Sector Development Capacity Building Project (PSD CBP), a component of which is designed to "Accelerate the Ethiopian Privatization Program". 

The Privatization and Public Enterprises Supervising Agency (PPESA) of the GOE under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, i.e. the implementing agency of this component, now invites experienced firms and associations to express their interests in designing and delivering training programs on Good Corporate Governance.

II.            Objectives and Specific Tasks

The overall objective of the assignment is to introduce the management, senior staff and Board members of PPESA including selected staff drawn from privatised as well as publicly managed State owned Enterprises (SOEs) under its portfolio to Corporate Governance to the standards of best international practices.

The Training Team is expected to design and deliver initially an introductory short course not exceeding two days on the fundamental and practical aspects of Good Corporate Governance for a wider audience to be followed with full fledged five days certificate course for senior management, and Board members of PPESA including selected personnel from privatised as well as publicly managed State owned Enterprises (SOEs). 

The functions of the Training Team consist of, but are not limited to, designing and delivering an introductory and comprehensive course onGood Corporate Governance through a series of formal and practical lectures to provide the fundamental tools and impart techniques on Good Corporate Governance with particularreference to the Ethiopian setting and the specific needs of PPESA.
