The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Tana & Beles Integrated Water Resource Development Project, and it intends to apply part of theproceeds toward payments under the contract for procurement of Hydrological & Laboratory Equipments.

The Ministry of Water & Energy now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for contract number MoWE/G-19/10 to procure the following goods. The place of delivery is Ministry of Water & Energy Ware house, Addis Ababa. The delivery period is with in 5 months of award of the contract.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurementunder IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of Water & Energy and inspect the bidding documents from the Ministry of Water & Energy at the address below during office hours8:30- 11:30 AM and 2:00- 5:00 PM local time. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Birr 100.00(Birr one hundred only) or equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be in cash or cheque.
For bidders who wish to receive the tender document by mail they shall make an additional payment of USD 40 or the equivalent amount in Ethiopian Birr. The tender document shall be sent by courier to their address. However, the purchaser shall not be responsible for the delay orloss of bidding documents that are mailed to potential bidders.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 80, 000.00 forLot I, Birr 7, 000.00 for Lot II or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency, and be delivered to the address below by 10:00 AM, 29 April, 2011. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders' representatives, who choose to attend, at the address below. Late bids will be rejected.
