1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business on June 12th, 2009 issue no. 4044031.
2. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a grant from the International Development Association toward the cost of National Nutrition Program, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to payments under the contract for Procurement of Albendazole Tablets.
3. Pharmaceuticals Fund and Supply Agency now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of 150,000 packets of 10 x 10 Albendazole Tablets.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Qualifications requirements include:
a) Financial Capability: A minimum average annual turnover of two times the bid price offered, over the last five years; and
b) Experience and Technical Capacity: Having successfully completed a minimum of two contracts each of similar nature and size within the last five years.

7.A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee Ethiopian Birr 200.00 (Two Hundred Birr) or equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Those who want the bid document to be sent by a courier service shall pay an additional amount of ETB 1,500.00 or equivalent in a freely convertible currency for a courier service charge or send a pre paid courier service coupon. The method of payment will be in cash, or Cashier's Payment Order (C.P.O.), or direct deposit to Pharmaceuticals Fund and Supply Agency A/C No CBB 01246-730145 with Construction and Business Bank Piazza Branch Addis Ababa Ethiopia.
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2:00 P.M May 03, 2011. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives,who choose to attend in person at the Conference Hall of Pharmaceuticals Fund and Supply Agency, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 2:30 P.M May 03, 2011. Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD 12,000.00(equivalent ETB 204,000.00) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency.
