The Ministry of Education (MoE) now invites sealed bids from eligiblebidders for reprinting and distribution of textbooks and teacher guides for the following subjects and grades:

Bidders may bid for one lot or multiple lots and are invited to offerdiscounts in case of an award of contract for several lots to one bidder.

Bidding will be conducted through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank Guidelines: "Guidelines: Procurement Under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits" dated May 2004, revised October 2006; and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee ETB300 or USD20 or equivalent in freely convertible currency for the Bid Document. The method of payment shall be in cash or cashier's cheque payable to the MoE.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before, 2:00 pm, Tuesday 31, January 2012. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Latebids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 2:30 pm, Tuesday 31, January 2012.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of

for each lot or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currencyof eligible countries. The bid security shall be in the form of a certified cheque, letter of credit or bank guarantee from a reputable banking institutionor a bond issued by a surety; be issued by a reputable institution selected by the Bidder and located in any eligible country. If the institution issuing the bond is located outside the Purchaser's Country, it shall have a correspondent financial institution located in the Purchaser's Country to make it enforceable.
