1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 741, 31 December 2008.
2. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Tana & Beles Integrated Water Resource Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the procurement of Heavy Machineries.
3. The Ministry of water & Energy now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for supply and delivery of one unit of Dredging machine.

4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders fromEligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of Water & Energy,fekahmedn@gmail.comand inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 8:30 AM to 12:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 5:00PM local time
6. Qualifications requirements and other additional details are providedin the Bidding Documents.

• The bidder shall submit audited financial statements of the company for the last 3 years to demonstrate that it has an average annual turnover of at least two times the proposed bid price.
• Documentary evidence of experience and capability for at least two contracts which amounts more than USD 100,000 in the last five years on similar assignment.
• Had experience of supply and delivery of similar goods for the last at least three years
• The Bidder shall furnish documentary evidence to demonstrate that theGoods it offers meet the requirements specified in the given specification of the bid document.

7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Birr 100.00 or in Equivalent value of USD. The method of payment will be in Cash or cheque. For bidders who wish to receive the tender document by mail they shall make an additional payment of USD 40 or the equivalent amount in Ethiopian Birr. The tender document shall be sent by courier to their address. However, the purchaser shall not be responsible for the delay or loss of bidding documents that are mailed to potential bidders.

8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00 A.M 23/08/2012. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 10:30 AM 23/08/2012. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Birr 150, 000 (Birr One hundred fifty thousand only) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in the formof Bank guarantee
