1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in dgMarket on 7 August, 2009 and 12 October, 2009.
2.The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Healthhas received a grant from the International Development Association toward the cost ofProtection of Basic Services-Phase II/component 2, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of thisgrant to payments under the contract forProcurement of Artemether 20mg + Lumefantrine 120mg tablets.
3. ThePharmaceuticals Fund & Supply Agency (PFSA) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders forthe supply of Artemether 20mg + Lumefantrine 120mg tablets.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. 6.A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 200.00 (Two Hundred Birr) or equivalent in a freely convertible currency.Those who want the bid document to be sent by a Courier Service shall pay an additional amount of ETB1,500.00 or equivalent in a freelyconvertible currencyfor a courier servicecharge or send a pre paid Courier Service Coupon. The method of payment will be in cash, or Cashier's Payment Order (C.P.O.), or direct deposit to PFSA A/C No 01246 730145 with the Construction & Business Bank, Piassa Branch.
7.Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2:00 P.M local time, October 30, 2012.Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the Conference Hall of Pharmaceuticals Fund & Supply Agency (PFSA), Sub City: Addis Ketema, Kebele: 19/20, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 2:30 P.M local time October 30, 2012.All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of:
Item No.1 USD 6,840.00 or equivalent ETB 119,300.00
Item No.2 USD 12,160.00 or equivalent ETB 212,200.00;
or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
