1.      This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issued on. November 2004.

2.      The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the IDA (International Development Association) toward the cost of Ethiopia Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract forthe Supply& Installation of Electro Mechanical Equipments of Jijiga Town Water Supply and Sanitation Project..

3.      The Somali Regional State, Bureau of Water Resource Development now invites sealed bids from eligible andqualified bidders for the Supply & Installationof Electro Mechanical Equipments. The contract comprises only one Lot however; the major items are described below table.

4.      Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the WorldBank's Guidelines: Procurementunder IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Somali Regional State, Bureau of Water Resource Development and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below in the working hours between, from 9:00 - 11:30 AM& 1:30 PM to 5:00PM from Monday to Friday.

6.      Qualifications requirements include: 

a)      The Bidder shall furnish audited financial statement of the firm for the last three years to confirman average annual financial turnover of at least equivalent the bid price offered.

b)      Bidder should have the experience on supplying at least one contracts similar size and nature over the last three years, supported with names of clients, type and value of contracts.

c)      Product ISO authorization should be attached to the document in compliance to the specification.

7.      A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee ETB 300 or equivalent freely convertible currency.  The method of payment will be cashier's check.

8.      Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00 AM of 9 April 2013.Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. The bid Validity period shall be 120 days. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders or their representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 10:30 AM on 9 April 2013. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of ETB 200,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in the form of CPO or Bank Guarantee
