1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no.WB1978-04/13 of dated April 15, 2013.
2. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Associationand IFAD toward the cost of Pastoral CommunityDevelopment Project II and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for procurement of 23 Diesel engine water pumps.
3. The Pastoral Community Development Project II Federal Project Coordination Unit now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualifiedbidders for the procurement of 23 pcs Diesel Engine Driven surface pumps.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.5
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Pastoral Community Development Project II , Federal Project Coordination Unit W/o Alemtsehay Adem e.mail alemtsehayadem@yahoo.com and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below:-
from 8.00 Am up to 12.30Am in the morning and 1.30-5.30 PM in the after noon
6. Qualifications requirements include:. A margin of preference for eligible national contractors
7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee Birr 100.00 (Onehundred Birr) or an equivalent amount in freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cashier's check .
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before May 10th 2013 at 2.00PM. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened on May 10, 2013 at 02.30 in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below;
All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Birr 160,000(Birr one hundred sixty thousand) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
