Supply & Delivery of Surveying Equipment

IFB Number: MoWE/EPLAU/ICB/G-02                  

1.    This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that                         appeared in Development Business, dated December 9, 2004.

2.   The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Ethiopian Nile Irrigation and Drainage Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the supply anddelivery of Surveying Equipment.

3.     The Ministry of Water and Energy, Ethiopian Nile Irrigation and Drainage Project now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders forthe supply and delivery of Surveying Equipment.         

4.           Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures        specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans   and    IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.     Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of Water and Energy, Ethiopia Nile Irrigation and Drainage Project and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below during Office hours from 8:30 A.M to 5:00 P.M

6.      Qualifications requirements include: provision of documentary evidence showing technical and        financial capacity as well as relevant experience of the bidder from reputable institution as specified in thebidding document. Additional details are provided in the bidding document.

7.    A complete set ofBidding Documents in English Language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Birr 200.00 (Birr two hundred) or in equivalent  amount in a freely convertible currency. Themethod of payment will be cash/cashier cheque. The BiddingDocuments will be sent by first class mail for overseas bidders who send a crossed bank draft of Birr 700.00(Birr Seven hundred) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in addition to the price of the bid document to the address given below. However, the Ministry of Water and Energy will not take any responsibility for late or no delivery of the bidding document sent by mail. No extension in bid submission date is permitted on this account.

8.     Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:30 P.M on July 2, 2013. Electronic  bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.  Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address belowon July 2, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 130.000.00 (Birr One hundred thirty thousand) or an equivalentamount in a freely convertible currency.
