1. This Invitation For Bids(IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business Web Site, on August 17, 2007
2. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received Additional Financing from International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project and it intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Bid no: DDWSSA/IDA/UWSSP/W-CW/ICB/002-2013 for procurement of Civil Work Contract.
- The Dire Dawa Water Supply & Sewerage Authority now invites sealedbids from eligible bidders for Construction of:
Lot I : Laying of Pipes (Trench Excavation, Backfilling and Pipe Laying),
Asphalt Reinstatement and Junction boxes;
Lot II : Construction of Reinforced Concrete Reservoirs, Auxiliary Building
and Access Roads.
- Bidding will be conducted through the International competitive bidding (ICB) as specified in the World Bank's Procurement guidelines under IDA credits/grants and is open to all eligible bidders from eligible sources countries as defined in the guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Dire Dawa Water Supply and Sewerage Authority and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 8:30 am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday at working hours.
- Interested bidders may purchase the bidding document fromDire Dawa Water Supply & Sewerage Authority: Dire Dawa Water Supply and Sanitation Project Management Unit -Room No: 13 (both in hard and soft copy ) up on payment of a nonrefundable fee of ETB 500.00 (Five Hundred Birr) from the date offirst announcement of this notice.
- Bids must be delivered to Dire Dawa Water Supply & Sewerage Authority, Room No: 013 on or before 18 March 2014 at 09:00 AM.Electronic bidding will not be permitted and late bids will be rejected. Bids shall be opened on 18 March 2014 in the presence ofbidders or representatives who wish to attend at 09:30 AM in Dire Dawa Water Supply & Sewerage Authority, Room No 013.
- Bids shall be valid for a period of one hundred Twenty (120) days after bid opening and must be accompanied by a Bid security of ETB 1,000,000 (one million) for Lot I: andETB 1,500,000.00 (one million five hundred) for Lot II or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
