 IFB Title: Design, Supply, installation and commissioning of eight borehole submersible pumps     with eight reserve pumps, twelve surface centrifugal booster pumps, chlorine preparation & dosing system equipment, five standby generators, equipment for automated control system and associated head work, piping and electrical works for Gondar Town Water Supply and Sanitation Project

1.      This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business,issue on. November 2004.

2.       Gondar Town Water Supply & Sewerage Service through the Governmentof the Federal Republic of Ethiopia has received has a credit from the IDA (International Development Association) toward the cost of Ethiopia Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Design, Supply, installation and commissioning of eight borehole  submersible pumps with eight reserve pumps, twelve surface centrifugal booster pumps, chlorine preparation & dosing system equipment, five standbygenerators, equipment for automated control system and associated head work, piping and electrical works for Gondar Town Water Supplyand Sanitation Project.

3.      Gondar Town Water Supply & Sewerage Service now invites sealed bids from local or international eligible and qualified bidders for the supply and installation of Pumps, Generators & Ancillary Electro-mechanicalequipment: Bidders must bid for the supply and installation ofthe whole package of pumps and generators with all accessories and spare parts.

4.      Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is opento all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.      Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Gondar Town Water Supply & Sewerage Service, Project coordination Office, Gondar Town, 1^st Floor, Room No. 4, P.O.Box 225, Tel. No. +251-058-112-25-29/ 0918 76 26 39, from 8:30 - 12:30 am & 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm local hours, from Monday to Friday.

6.      Qualifications requirements include:

a)      Financial Capability

❖  The Bidder shall furnish audited financial statement of the firm for the last five years to confirm an average annual financial turnover of 7.5 Million USD. 

 (b)    Experience and Technical Capacity

❖  Bidder should have the experience on supply & installation of electro mechanical equipment at least Two (2) contracts similar nature within the last Three (3) years, each with a value of at least USD 4 Million that have been successfully and substantially completed, supported with namesof clients, type and value of contracts.

 (c)    Product ISO authorization should be attachedto the document in compliance to the specification.

A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

7.      A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on thesubmission of a written application to the address below paragraph 9 and upon payment of a non refundable fee ETB 500 or equivalent freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cashier's check. Local bidders are required to attach, with their application, a copy of their renewed trade licenses, VAT Certificate and Tax Identification Number Certificate.

8.      Bids must be delivered to the address below paragraph 9 at or before 10:00 am of 26^th   December, 2014. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. The bid Validity period shall be 120 days. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives, who choose to attend in person or on-line at the address below paragraph 9 at 10:30 amof 26^th December, 2014. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of ETB 500,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
