1. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received for financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the National Quality Infrastructure Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract[1]  the Procurement of Calibration Equipment in the area of Light, Color Time and Frequency Measurement, for National Metrology Institute of Ethiopia (NMIE)

2.      The Ministry of Science and Technology now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply, Installation and Commissioning of Food and Chemical Laboratory Equipment as indicated below

3.      Bidding will be conducted through International Competitive Procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the The World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF borrowers, Procurement in Investment Project Financing Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services dated July 2016 and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

5. The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon the     submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of ETB (Local currency) 400.00 or USD 25.00. The method of payment shall be in cash or cashier’s cheque or CPO to the Ministry of Science and Technology- National Quality Infrastructure Development Project (MoST-NQIDP)

6.     Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before April 30, 2018 2:00 PM local time

 local time. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on April 30, 2018 2:30 PM local time local time.

7.      All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of USD 7000.00 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency of eligible countries. The bid security shall be in the form of a certified cheque or unconditional bank guarantee from reputable banking institution submitted in its original form. Bid security in the form of an insurance bond, copy of the security and swift massages shall not be accepted.
