Sheraton Addis - A Luxury Collection Hotel are undergoing critical infrastructure upgrades to support the transition from fuel-based systems to electric-powered operations.

Currently the facility's electrical infrastructure, with a total of installed capacity of 4,000 kVA, is operating at reduced capacity 2,500 kVA, due to uncertain condition of the switchgear malfunction and one out-of-service power transformer. Additionally, the planned load additions (770 kW), including pool heat pumps, electric hot water boilers, and laundry system electrification, will raise total power to approximately 1.87 MW.

To address these needs and ensure a secure and reliable power supply, the installation of a 15KV dual Input Switchgear having one 15KV output (Ring Feed Switchgear) and a generator Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) is vital. This system will improve resilience, allow seamless switching between power sources and support the hotel's growing electrical demands., ensuring operational continuity during outages or maintenance, and minimizing risks associated with increased electrical demand.

Project Objectives:

1. Operational Resilience: Ensuring reliable power supply during outages and maintenance activities.
2. Load Management: Accommodating additional load from ongoing electrification efforts.
3. Safety and Efficiency: Enhancing reliability and preventing system failures or equipment damage.

Scope of Work

1. Assessment and Planning:

• Review existing electrical infrastructure including; transformers, switchgear, and distribution panels.
• Assess integration of new 15KV dual input switchgear and ATS into the current system.
• Identify optimal locations points to ensure safety, accessibility and efficiency.

2. Procurement and Installation:

• Already Procured- The required ring feed switch and generator ATS, ensuring compliance with industry standards and the compound's specifications.
• Install the 15KV dual input switchgear with one 15KVoutput.
• Install the generator ATS for automatic transition between utility generator power.
• Repair of the damaged transformer.
• Complete all necessary civil works

3. Testing and Commissioning:

• Perform functional testing of the installed equipment.
• Simulate power outages and transitions to verify system reliability.
• Calibrate the system to meet increased load requirements.

4. Training and Documentation:

• Provide training to Sheraton Addis engineering team on the operation and maintenance.
• Deliver comprehensive documentation, including as-built drawings, user manuals, and maintenance schedules.

5. Ongoing Support:

• Provide post-installation technical support, including periodic inspections and preventive maintenance services.
• Provide technical assistance for any unforeseen issues during the warranty period.

Bid Submission Guidelines

Qualified and interested professional is called to participate in providing detailed technical and financial in a separate sealed envelope to Sheraton Addis Finance Department not latter than September 30, 2025.

Sheraton Addis has all right and reserve to cancel and/or extend the bidding process.
