Tender Notice Tender №: CRS-SC-2024-23 Invitation of Private Sectors and Farmers' Cooperatives/Unions to Engage in the Cultivated Forage Based Densification/Pellet Making Business with Co-Investment

Catholic Relief Services - United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (CRS-USCCB) is a nonprofit non-governmental international relief and development agency working to alleviate human sufferings and foster human development in Ethiopia. CRS/Ethiopia program is working with international and local partners and serving people on the bases of need, not creed, race or nationality in more than 100 countries in five continents. In relation with this, CRS/Ethiopia would like to invite private sectors or farmers' cooperatives/unions who are willing and capable to engage in cultivated forages densification/ pellet making business. CRS Ethiopia Seed Activity (CRS/ESA) is determined to contribute to addressing feed shortage problem of the country through engaging private sectors or cooperatives/unions who can produce forages and make pellets using densification machine. Cultivated forage based pellets are believed to be quality products which can be supplied at low cost.

The qualifying companies are expected to contribute at least 50% of the total cost of densification/pellet making machine, insurance, transportation and installation. The remaining 50% of the cost will be contributed by CRS/ESA as an incentive for the company to engage in cultivated forages based pellet making business. Interested applicants are also expected to have experiences of cultivated forages production in Afar, Somali and South Ethiopia Regions. The main purpose of engaging private sectors and farmers' cooperatives/unions in cultivated forages based densification/pellet making business is to increase availability of quality feed at low cost for dairy farms, feedlot operators, quarantine stations, the farming community and other beneficiaries in the country. This will in turn enhance economic benefits of the companies engaged in the pellet making business.

The private sectors and farmers' cooperatives/unions which are interested to participate in the tender should have renewed Business license for the sector. The complete bid documents are available at CRS/Ethiopia office located at Swaziland St. Gulele Sub-city, Enkulal Fabrica, P.O. Box 6592, Addis Ababa during office hours Monday to Friday from July 15, 2024 to August 02, 2024. Additionally, the applicants can also express their interests and request the bid document CRS via email; EthiopiaRFGS@crs.org ATTENTION TO PROCUREMENT TEAM for the bid documents to be sent to their email.

Duly completed bids and technical proposal can be submitted in two options: the first option is in a sealed envelope addressed to CRS/ Ethiopia clearly marked by "Bidders Name, Address, Legal Stamps, Signatures and Tender No." Bidders should submit their technical proposal in sealed envelope to the address mentioned above and shall put into the bid box dedicated to the purpose at CRS Ethiopia Addis Ababa Office. The second option is that the applicants can also send their signed, stamped and scanned technical proposal and associated documents via CRS secured e-mail: ET_Tenders@crs. org. Technical proposal and associated bid documents submitted other than the indicated e-mail address will not be considered.

The technical proposal and associated documents shall be submitted to CRS Ethiopia on or before the closing date of August 02, 2024 at 4:00 PM. Bids arriving after this date and time will not be considered.
